About the role

Park Nicollet is seeking a Patient Financial Services (PFS) Supervisor to lead the financial aspects of patient care. The position involves supervising operations, improving customer satisfaction, and maximizing cash flow.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the overall functions of the PFS area
  • Collaborate with Operations and other departments to ensure an exceptional patient experience
  • Review and reconcile accounts receivable balances
  • Improve customer satisfaction through effective and compliant billing practices
  • Maintain and develop systems to support financial operations
  • Set operational goals and strategies for the department
  • Ensure operational goals and strategies are accomplished through planning, implementing, and directing of system, programs, and staff productivity

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience in business, accounting, health, or public administration, management, or a related field
  • A minimum of two years supervisory and development responsibilities or three years of healthcare experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least two years of Patient Financial Services leadership experience
  • Experience with Lean and Kaizen Tools preferred

Skills

  • Working knowledge in patient registration, billing, accounts receivable (AR), and cash management
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding (CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM)
  • Familiarity with health insurance practices and industry regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of government and third-party regulations, HIPAA, billing requirements, insurance processing, and medical terminology and coding (CPT-4 and ICD-9-CM)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, ambiguity, continuous change, and stressful situations
  • Strong leadership, organization, team building, and management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills in organizing, planning, providing support, and supervising an operation and its staff
  • Leadership skills in motivating cross-departmental teams' performance towards excellence and developing team concepts and consensus-building management styles
  • Analytical ability to assess situations and choose patient-friendly, efficient, cost-effective solutions
  • Ability to conceptualize workflow, develop plans, and implement appropriate actions
  • Ability to teach others
