This position oversees staff, ensures accuracy and quality, and manages all operational and financial aspects of enrolling, billing, collections, and accounting for payments due from insurances and patients for specialty medications.

Responsibilities

• Trains staff on enrolling patients, understanding accounts receivable, and managing patient balances.
• Teaches staff how to verify patient pharmacy coverage and process information.
• Manages patient claims for prescription drug and medical benefits to ensure excellent specialty pharmacy care.
• Communicates with the Insurance Resolution Specialist team to ensure accurate patient charges and insurance billing.
• Assists in hiring and training to ensure associate success in their job functions.
• Supports management with regularly scheduled training to keep staff updated on new therapies, drugs, and industry changes.
• Handles additional projects and activities as assigned.
• Fosters open communication across departments and provides feedback to ensure positive outcomes for patients, payors, and PANTHERx.
• Works with management to identify negative margins at the drug, patient, or payor level for adjudicated and non-adjudicated claims.
• Attends and occasionally leads staff meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand and apply basic accounts receivable business principles.
• Strong prioritization skills with a focus on company goals.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Proficient with EDS billing systems, Excel, and Word.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience with medical and prescription insurance authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge within the healthcare industry, particularly in mail order or specialty pharmacy.
• Experience with CPR+.

Work Environment

This position operates in a home or professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
