Responsibilities
Provides day-to-day work direction for direct report(s), focuses on maintaining steady workflow and productivity and resolving operational decisions. Understands leadership approaches and has practical knowledge of Operations (Quality/Production Control/Manufacturing/Test/Engineering).
Provides input on hiring, termination, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions for direct report(s). Reports to Assoc. Manager or higher. Communicate with parties inside and outside of own team to explain and interpret policies, practices, and procedures for the area of responsibility.
Adjusts procedures and processes. Plans and establish operational objectives for a team with some impact on department results. Makes adjustments in procedures and processes to solve problems. Identifies, defines, and addresses general problems that are typically within the immediate job area or team.
Assigns tasks to a team to achieve operational targets, service standards, etc. May manage day-to-day elements of the budget (e.g., costs associated with maintaining area supplies and overtime of staff).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Skills
- Understands supervisory approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, and process execution.
- Typically requires broad job knowledge of technical or operational practices within assigned discipline.
- Applicable manufacturing or engineering experience preferred.
