About the role
The Supervisor Operations for the Cold Food Department at SkyChefs is responsible for overseeing daily production activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely preparation of high-quality cold food items for airline catering. This role involves supervising a team of kitchen staff, managing inventory, monitoring food safety protocols, and collaborating with other departments to maintain seamless operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper organization, staffing, and direction of the Cold Food Department and meeting all delivery times
- Conduct daily work group meetings
- Maintain financial goals related to material, productivity, overtime, and labor
- Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies' standards
- Document and follow up on department processes to implement improvements
- Lead, motivate, and develop staff
- Perform performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and prepare corrective actions for employees
- Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions
- Participate in and support company-sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety, and Production systems
Requirements
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a food production or related field
- One to three years of supervisory experience in a food production and restaurant/catering environment
- Strong and effective leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage a staff of 20+ hourly employees
- Comfortable with all levels of employees and ability to drive positive program change
- Experience with OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA, and EPA regulations
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications

Pay
$59,796.82 - 74,746.03 annually
Schedule
On-site, Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling based on business needs.
