Supervisor, Operations

About the role

As an Operations Supervisor at StandardAero, you will oversee and organize the equipment, manpower requirements, processes, and scheduling on a production floor. You will plan day-to-day operations, assign manpower, authorize overtime, monitor employee utilization/efficiency, and work with employees to ensure key metrics are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Plans day-to-day operations, assigns manpower, authorizes overtime, monitors/measures employee utilization/efficiency and works with employees to ensure key metrics are achieved
• Makes adjustments as necessary to maintain delivery schedules
• Collaborates with operations, finance, Operations Excellence, supply chain, and engineering to ensure operations standards and goals are achieved
• Establishes, implements, and/or follows policies and procedures needed to achieve the business unit's strategic operating goals
• Performs capacity planning for equipment, floor space and manpower requirements in accordance with forecasted workload
• Responsible for independent problem solving; have the ability to maximize resources available and know how to properly communicate and escalate to achieve goals
• Builds and develops team approaches to problem solving and continuous improvement concepts within the assigned area
• May participate in the business unit management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes
• Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports
• Carries out special projects as assigned
• May perform other cell operations tasks as required, depending on business needs and technical qualifications

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Authorized to work in the US

Desired Skills

• Several years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline
• Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• Strong logistics and problem-solving abilities are critical to the role
