About the role

Supervises and coordinates activities related to ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in a stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews inbound appointment log and open order report daily to plan work activities.
  • Plans inbound and outbound schedules to meet customer metrics.
  • Determines staffing needs based on workload and schedules staff accordingly.
  • Assigns workers to specific duties based on workload and shipping schedules.
  • Reviews and updates operational procedures, ensuring they are communicated and understood by warehouse associates.
  • Tracks productivity and qualifies performance by individual, function, and department.
  • Works with Inventory Control to ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy.
  • Manages department payroll.
  • Advises employees on handling items, methods, and use of equipment for storing, maintaining, and shipping stock.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records; recommends remedial actions.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Ensures proper safety procedures are followed.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises 20+ employees in Operations.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees, and addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay

Anticipated starting salary range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually. The final starting salary will be determined based on prevailing market conditions, location, and other factors, in accordance with applicable laws.
