Supervisor, Operations

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and direction of a USW represented work force in the execution operation, maintenance and construction activities on the hydroelectric plants to which they are assigned.
• Ensure that all personnel and contractors under his/her responsibility practice sound, approved environmental principles and follow all Brookfield environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory licenses, permits, and codes of conduct.
• Review and develop operations and maintenance procedures, monitor the workmanship and performance of operations and maintenance employees and contractors and inspect related projects in an effort to improve operations, increase uptime and strengthen the safety of the operation.
• Assist with budget analysis, bid process and ordering process for contracted labor, consultants, parts and equipment for various projects.
• Collaborate with employees, contractors, engineers, and consultants when designing, constructing, and implementing projects to incorporate safety and environmental concepts.
• Travel as necessary to effectively manage facilities and assigned projects and for safety, leadership development, or to support the overall goals of the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical discipline or Equivalent work related experience and leadership will be considered in lieu of formal education (5+ to 7 Years of Experience)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Supervisory and leadership experience, preferably including supervision of trades personnel and contractors
• Experience reading (and working from) drawings, blueprints, specifications, schematics
