SUPERVISOR OF VOCATIONAL INSTRUCTION

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Correctional Education Programs (SCEP) and in coordination with the Career Technical Education (CTE) headquarters unit, the Supervisor of Vocational Instruction (SVI) is responsible for supporting and evaluating CTE programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop program quality standards for program evaluation.
  • Communicate program quality standards to staff and supervisors.
  • Regularly report program quality formative and summative data.
  • Coach teachers on effective instructional strategies.
  • Interpret educational policy and develop well-informed policy recommendations.

Individuals eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered.

Location

This position is located at California State Prison, Solano in Vacaville, Solano County.

Requirements

Minimum requirements are outlined in the Class Specification. Candidates must meet these qualifications to be considered for the position.

  • Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
  • If meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, include unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
  • Applicants with foreign degrees/transcripts must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency from a NACES approved agency.
  • New hires must submit to a background investigation, including Live Scan Fingerprinting, and a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by annual testing thereafter.
  • Supporting documents should be in PDF format where possible.

Pay

$10,261.00 - $13,489.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
