Supervisor Nursing BSN RN Medical Surgical

About the Role

Responsible for coordinating and supervising daily operations of the Unit. Directs the delivery of care by department personnel to ensure patient outcomes are achieved, high quality care is delivered, and the patient experience is enhanced. Fosters and maintains positive working relationships among staff, physicians, and medical center personnel to ensure collaboration. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Pay

$42.04 - $60.32/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is a salaried position.

Requirements

• Current State license as a registered nurse
• BSN or higher
• Approximately two to three years progressively more responsible related work experience, including at least two years clinical experience as an RN
• Ability to gain professional competence in nursing care techniques and practices
• Knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including principles of growth and development, physical, emotional, and psycho-social needs of the patient population
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and administration to oversee planning and implementation of care, and prepare necessary analyses, reports, policies, and budgets
• Interpersonal skills to provide effective leadership, instruct and comfort patients and their families, and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians, medical center personnel, and external agencies
• Analytical skills to organize, schedule, and monitor Unit activities, implement effective nursing care procedures, and identify and resolve Unit and patient care problems
