RN Supervisor - Surgery

About the role

This position involves leading and coordinating daily activities within a healthcare unit to ensure safe, quality nursing care and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct nursing staff, providing mentorship and fostering professional growth.
• Collaborate with care teams to meet patient needs, advocate for patients, and coordinate services across disciplines.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations, ensuring optimal patient care and staff competency.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, conducting audits and addressing corrective actions.
• Assist with hiring, promotions, discipline, and administrative tasks supporting the Nurse Manager.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and unit operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing; Master’s preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the practice state.
• Preferred certifications: BLS, clinical specialty, or nursing administration.
• Minimum of five years’ technical nursing experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
