SUPERVISOR NURSING

About the role

The Nursing Supervisor at Moffitt Cancer Center is responsible for overseeing the efficient operations of the hospital, particularly during off-shifts, weekends, and holidays. They act as leadership designee in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President of Patient Care Services. The role involves creating an environment that supports effective communication, leadership, and customer service skills through collaboration with nursing units and ancillary departments.

Responsibilities

• Administer administrative oversight during off-shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Create an environment supporting effective communication, leadership, and customer service skills
• Supervise the PRN Float Pool, Nursing, and other hospital staff during evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Coordinate temporary and agency personnel needs
• Collaborate with the Central Staffing Office to ensure adequate staffing levels and allocation of staff to meet patient needs; forecast future staffing needs based on staffing matrices and average daily census in a fiscally responsible manner
• Act as a professional role model, participate in continuous quality improvement activities, and progress in personal and professional development
• Coordinate activities with other hospital departments, collaborate with department leaders, and communicate with patients, medical staff, and the public regarding policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and other important issues
• Perform related duties as required

Requirements

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Nursing
• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Additional Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting
• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare policies, procedures, and regulations

Pay

The salary range for this position is $46.13 - $70.37 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Actual compensation may vary based on location and other job-related factors.
