SUPERVISOR NURSING
About the role
The Nursing Supervisor at Moffitt Cancer Center is responsible for overseeing the hospital’s operations during off-shifts, weekends, and holidays. They act as a leadership designee in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President of Patient Care Services. The role involves creating an environment that supports effective communication, leadership, and customer service skills through collaboration with nursing units and ancillary departments.
Responsibilities
- Administers administrative oversight during off-shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Collaborates with nursing units and ancillary departments to ensure smooth daily operations
- Supervises the PRN Float Pool, Nursing, and other hospital staff assigned to the evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Coordinates temporary and agency personnel needs
- Works collaboratively with the Central Staffing Office to ensure adequate staffing levels and allocation of staff to meet patient needs; forecasts future staffing needs based on staffing matrices and average daily census in a fiscally responsible manner
- Serves as a professional role model, participates in continuous quality improvement activities, and progresses in personal and professional development
- Coordinates activities with other hospital departments, collaborates with department leaders, patients, medical staff, and the public regarding policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and other issues of importance
- Performs related duties as required
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Nursing
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Additional Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures

Pay
Salary range: $46.13 - $70.37 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.

Shifts may vary depending on the needs of the hospital and the individual’s availability.
