Supervisor, Merchandise

In this role you’ll help bring joy, excitement, and lasting memories to guests from around the world.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline management supervision of policies, procedures, projects, personnel, security, and safety for all merchandise locations.
• Lead and inspire a team to deliver great guest experiences from the start.
• Guide the team to exceed financial and guest‑service targets for assigned location(s).
• Supervise and develop all direct reports and ambassadors through training, feedback, coaching, and performance tracking/appraisals.
• Facilitate timely completion of work orders.
• Schedule ambassadors and monitors in Kronos; manage timecards.
• Monitor and manage location stock flow, maintain minimum/maximum levels, restock displays, and process damaged merchandise.
• Conduct product research and management related to the area.
• Maintain safety of ambassadors and merchandise facilities, ensuring neat, attractive, and functional displays.
• Authorize customer refunds up to $200.
• Perform department duties as assigned.
• Coordinate annual inventory for assigned location(s).
• Assist manager with plan‑ograms for prompt and correct product activation.
• Help plan promotional presentation layouts and merchandise events.
• Monitor area programs for inconsistencies and correct them.
• Ensure excellent customer service by responding to guest requirements, expectations, and needs.
• Occasionally assist other locations and areas throughout the park as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Valid state driver’s license (visiting students and military must provide a copy of DMV report and complete Company Vehicle Driver Training to obtain a SeaWorld driver’s license).
• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum two years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to speak effectively before groups.
• Strong math skills for computing rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting graphs.
• Physical ability to lift/move 25–50 lb and stand or sit for prolonged periods; regular use of hands and fingers.
• Capability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to interact positively with guests and coworkers of diverse ages, ethnic/cultural backgrounds, languages, and special‑needs individuals.
• Outgoing demeanor with a focus on excellent guest service.
• Self‑motivation and ability to motivate ambassadors.
• Basic knowledge of financial terms for the revenue department.
• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues.
• Clear understanding of ParkWare, MMS, Kronos, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Preferred: knowledge of AP Pro, Photoshop, ATRB, RTS, and Scheduler systems.
• Preferred: theme‑park experience.
