Merchandise Supervisor

About the role

Execute receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring associates process efficiently and effectively as a team. Provide an excellent customer experience, maintain a clean and organized store, and model exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate truck deliveries and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
• Train and mentor associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
• Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
• Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
• Monitor associate task completion, prioritize as needed, and coach productivity.
• Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Uphold organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area.
• Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
• Provide accurate communication with management and associates regarding priorities and progress.
• Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with management on associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capable of multitasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Team player who works effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Experience training others.
• Minimum of 1 year retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Pay

Starting pay range: USD $14.50 to $15.00 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
