Supervisor Medical Technology
About the Role
As our Clinical Laboratory Supervisor, you will lead and oversee all Clinical Laboratory operations, ensuring high standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. You will implement new procedures, maintain quality control, and drive laboratory efficiency while managing and training lab personnel, overseeing specimen processing, and ensuring adherence to technical standards from JCAHO, CAP, and the State of California. This position also involves direct participation in lab operations as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist and supervises specimen processing, lab coordinators, phlebotomists, and couriers.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and supervise Hematology/Coagulation/Urinalysis personnel, programs, and operations.
- Maintain technical standards as prescribed by JCAHO, CAP, and the State of California.
- Establish and maintain a quality assurance/control program to ensure the reliability of test results.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained.
- Establish and maintain procedural directions for laboratory operations.
- Manage personnel, including training and development, to foster strategic agility and team success.
- Oversee financial management, human resources, equipment management, quality management, physician relations, and workflow design.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with staff and support internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a moderate or high complexity laboratory.
- One year of experience as a supervisor or higher (preferred).
- CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License.
- Administrative skills and leadership qualities.
- Familiarity with financial management, human resources, equipment management, quality management, physician relations, and workflow design.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations.

Pay
$57.37 - $85.33 per hour.
