About the Role
As our Clinical Laboratory Supervisor, you will lead and oversee all Clinical Laboratory operations, ensuring high standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. You will implement new procedures, maintain quality control, and drive laboratory efficiency. You will manage and train lab personnel, oversee specimen processing, and ensure adherence to technical standards from JCAHO, CAP, and the State of California. This position also involves direct participation in lab operations as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist and supervises specimen processing, lab coordinators, phlebotomists, and couriers.
To succeed, you will effectively manage personnel, ensure regulatory compliance, and excel in quality assurance and inventory management. Leadership skills in strategic agility and team development, along with strong communication, are critical.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and supervise Hematology/Coagulation/Urinalysis personnel, programs, and operations.
- Maintain technical standards as prescribed by JCAHO, CAP, and the State of California.
- Establish and maintain a quality assurance/control program to ensure the reliability of test results.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained.
- Establish and maintain procedural directions.
- Oversee specimen processing and manage lab coordinators, phlebotomists, and couriers.
- Demonstrate administrative skill and leadership qualities in financial management, human resources, equipment management, quality management, physician relations, and workflow design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a moderate or high complexity laboratory.
- One year of experience as a supervisor or higher (preferred).
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License.
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Excellent communication skills to influence staff and support internal and external customers.

Pay
$57.37 - $85.33 per hour.
