About the role

This role involves leading and guiding a team of mechanical design engineers within the Engineering Group. The team focuses on developing technical solutions for emerging problems in advanced power plant designs, including Small Modular Reactors and Generation IV nuclear power plants, as well as existing power plants in domestic and international markets.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the engineering department to guide the development of technical solutions for emerging problems.
  • Performing engineering tasks including designing parts and assemblies for various product lines (e.g. valves, hydraulic assemblies, and actuators).
  • Creating schematic and assembly drawings using Solidworks or AutoCAD.
  • Reviewing manufacturing drawings for parts and determining manufacturing processes and specifying tolerancing requirements.
  • Developing engineering solutions and proposal documentation for RFQs and RFIs.
  • Collaborating with the analysis team on parts or assemblies that require FEA or CFD.
  • Communicating with customers on project and design-related challenges.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of Mechanical Design experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial and machine design.
  • Lead roles in product development and practice various engineering processes such as DFMA, DMAIC, FMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, etc.
  • In-depth understanding of ASME standards pertaining to valve design.
  • Proficiency in GD&T and related standards for drawing creation.
  • Proficiency in engineering processes (e.g. DFMA, DMAIC, FMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, etc.).
  • In-depth understanding of ASME standards pertaining to valve design.
  • Familiarity with nuclear industry standards (ASME, ANSI, API, IEEE etc.).
  • Familiarity with industrial hydraulics and electrical equipment.
  • Familiarity with mean time to failure (MTTF) or mean time before failure (MTBF) concepts related to product quality and reliability.

Qualifications

Pay

$108,900 - $145,200 per year
