About the role
As a Supervisor Maintenance at Valero, you will analyze work requirements and direct the work of others in performing various assigned maintenance duties. You will work under a Superintendent and may fill in for that position during absences. Additionally, you will function as a Work Order Planner as needed and coordinate the maintenance and equipment needs of the refinery with management.
Responsibilities
- Ensure maintenance hourly activities/work orders are implemented in a safe and productive manner.
- Provide direction to crafts persons to ensure the highest level of safety, productivity, work quality, and reliability.
- Communicate daily activities related to manpower, accomplishments, and problem areas to supervision.
- Write reports, business correspondence, procedures, and manuals using Windows-based computer systems.
- Provide training, development, and performance appraisal of craft employees.
- Hold toolbox meetings and inspections necessary to achieve safety goals.
- Oversee designated area work activities during unit turnarounds and outages, reporting to Turnaround Supervision.
- Assist craftspersons in solving complex equipment problems.
- Provide a high level of troubleshooting skills.
- Determine the most efficient and safest work methods.
- Communicate daily with supervision regarding the status of ongoing work and manpower needs.
- Maintain good written records and utilize SAP effectively.
- Perform estimates for maintenance and repair costs.
- Manage a large number of projects concurrently.
- Produce work orders/permits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero McKee Refinery.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 8 years of maintenance experience in a refinery or similar industry required.
- Experience in reading/interpreting drawings and in code requirements in the designated craft areas is required.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- SAP work order and purchase order experience.

Pay
This position is salaried nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay. Valero’s market-specific salary rate/range will be provided during the recruiting process.
