Supervisor, Maintenance
About the role
Oversees preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical)
Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield
Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures
Responsibilities
- Supervises a crew performing routine preventive maintenance and safety inspection operations for a plant's mechanical equipment, control systems or power distribution systems.
- Follows a daily and weekly schedule to effectively assign maintenance and repair tasks and may use a work order system to track work orders.
- Oversees preventive maintenance, repair, inspection, and calibration processes to identify wear, damage, or leaks, replace filters or belts, or apply lubrication to mechanical devices.
- Selects, schedules, and coordinates vendors and outside service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance projects.
- Maintains a replacement and spare part inventory at required levels.
- Trains and coaches the team.
- Ensures all work and material handling follow established safety procedures and regulations.
- Led and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers.
Requirements
- Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree

Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
May need to stand for long periods of time.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
This position is Safety-Sensitive.
Travel Requirements
Up to 25% travel likely.
