Supervisor - Laboratory Services (Phlebotomy)

Technical

• Affirms section compliance with accreditation and regulatory agency requirements, including educational, competency, proficiency testing, and safety.
• Oversees test performance characteristics, quality control programs, and resolves problems.
• Maintains up to date technical procedures and validation testing.

Human Resources

• Interviews and/or orients new employees to maintain adequate staffing levels.
• Prepares performance management documents and ensures staff competency.
• Actively manages employee engagement and the development of a favorable culture.

Budget

• Provides information and forecasts for preparation of operating and capital budgets.
• Maintains supply chain to ensure expected consumables are available for service levels.

Quality Management

• Led involvement in quality management activities including oversight of indicators, metrics, and customer-supplier feedback.
• Understands service standards of customers.
• Uses quality tools to identify and correct defects and variation from standard work.
• Engages technical and support staff to take the lead in identifying and resolving defects.
