About the role
As a pivotal leader, you will directly contribute to the development of annual departmental goals, objectives, and budget, while actively facilitating their achievement and ensuring ongoing evaluation of results for continuous improvement. You will champion the needs of your patient care team, fostering their professional growth and development to align individual success with broader operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and review the performance of laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to relevant policies and ethics.
- Oversee designated laboratory day-to-day operations and exercise authority over personnel decisions.
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes.
- Verify test procedures and establish the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including precision and accuracy.
- Establish a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and define parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance.
- Ensure maintenance of performance levels throughout the entire testing process, from specimen receipt to reporting of results.
- Identify training needs and ensure regular in-service training and education for laboratory personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical sciences as defined by CLIA.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a moderate or high complexity laboratory.
- Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist ASCP certification, or related.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated accountability, confidence, and exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to conduct challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy.
- Experience in individual coaching and group presentations.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience as a supervisor or higher.

Pay
$33.84 - $50.34 per hour.
