About the role

As a Lab Supervisor, you will be a pivotal leader, directly contributing to the development of annual departmental goals, objectives, and budget, while actively facilitating their achievement and ensuring ongoing evaluation of results for continuous improvement. You will champion the needs of your patient care team, fostering their professional growth and development to help them reach their full potential, aligning individual success with broader operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, coaches, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to relevant policies and ethics.
  • Oversees designated laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over personnel decisions.
  • Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes.
  • Administers laboratory inventories such as supplies, equipment, and consumables.
  • Selects test methodology appropriate for the clinical use of the test results.
  • Verifies test procedures performed and establishes the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA, upon hire.
  • Minimum of five years of experience at a moderate or high complexity laboratory, upon hire.
  • One of the following certifications upon hire:
    • International Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP-IMLS)
    • Blood Banking (BB)
    • Chemistry - ASCP (CASCP)
    • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
    • Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT-NCA)
    • Doctor of Medicine: AZ (MD:AZ)
    • Medical Laboratory Scientist - Med Technologist (MLS)
    • Medical Technologist AAB (MT-AAB)
    • Technologist in Microbiology (MMT-ASCP)
    • Medical Technologist AMT (MT-AMT)
    • Specialist in Hematology (SH-ASCP)
    • Histotechnologist (HTL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a supervisor or higher.

Pay

$41.14 - $61.20 per hour.
