Supervisor - Interventional Radiology

About the role

This role is accountable for the planning, coordination, and supervision of daily operations within the interventional procedural suites, including interventional radiology, neurointerventional, and future vascular services. It ensures safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care delivery across multiple angiography labs and associated CT procedural support.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision and coordination of daily operations across interventional procedural suites, ensuring efficient patient flow, case readiness, and optimal utilization of procedural rooms.
  • Functions as a working supervisor by performing clinical duties within the procedural environment while maintaining oversight of staffing, workflow, and patient care delivery.
  • Collaborates with interventional radiologists, neurointerventionalists, and other procedural providers to manage and optimize daily schedules, case prioritization, and shared lab access.
  • Captures staffing assignments and adjusts resources in real time to meet procedural demand, maintain safety, and support throughput goals.
  • Promotes seamless coordination between procedural suites and pre/post care areas, promoting continuity of care and patient experience.
  • Leads orientation, training, and ongoing competency validation for technologists; identifies development needs and supports professional growth and team cohesion.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards, including radiation safety and procedural best practices; actively participates in accreditation activities and readiness efforts.
  • Maintains equipment, supply, and technology needs within procedural areas; supports implementation, staff education, and effective utilization.
  • Assumes administrative duties applicable to the department when necessary.

Qualifications

  • The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Skills

  • Knowledge of interventional radiology, neurointerventional, and vascular procedures.
  • Strong supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using medical software and equipment.
