Supervisor-In-Charge

About the role

Routinely supervises other staff and maintains the home's operations in compliance with licensing rules. Assumes full management responsibilities in the absence of the ED/Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
• Develop and implement procedures to prevent medication errors.
• Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports.
• Participate in facility surveys/inspections and QA Programs.
• Attend and participate in Care Plan meetings.
• Participate in continuing education programs.
• Follow safety precautions and report hazardous conditions.
• Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living.
• Work cooperatively with all other staff and residents.
• Resolve residents' needs and attend to visitor requests.
• Conduct tours of the facility as needed.
• Listen to concerns and report issues to the Administrator.
• Ensure quick and appropriate responses to call lights and alarms.
• Affirm the implementation of care plans and proper storage of medications.
• Maintain a friendly and productive working relationship with other staff.
• Notify the Director of any concerns of neglect/abuse/exploitation.
• Report to the Administrator on any complaints or grievances.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old.
• Minimum of six months of supervisory experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and reach overhead.
• CPR Certified or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• C.N.A. or Personal Care Aide Certificate (80-Hour) within 6 months of hire.
• Medication Aide Certificate within 30 days of hire.
• Medication Aide Certification within 60 days of check-off.
• No substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program.
• Clear SBI record.
• Two-step tuberculin skin test (first test prior to hire, second within two weeks).
• Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with various individuals.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with others and maintain resident confidentiality.
• Availability to assist in evacuations during emergencies.
