Job Responsibility
- Promotes Imaging Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
- Leads the activities of assigned Imaging Services team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
- Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
- Prioritizes, schedules, assigns and monitors work to optimize operational performance; ensures adequate inventory of supplies.
- Organizes and guides staff towards service line/department goals.
- Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes.
- Maintains staff credentials and continuing education credits.
- Follows guidelines set forth by ACR and DOH. Ensures staff adherence to Quality and Infection Control guidelines and equipment maintenance according to state and federal guidelines; also maintains related accreditation, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control standards within modality.
- Troubleshoots mechanical equipment issues and ensures compliance to manufacturer specifications.
- Schedules equipment maintenance and repair.
- Participates in developing and delivering training related to modality.
- Participates in evaluating and implementing Performance Improvement related practices.
- Functions as a technologist and responds to emergency calls, as necessary.
- Performs related duties as required.
Job Qualification
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Ultrasound Technology program, required.
- Current Radiology Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist License in New York State required, and current ARRT registration required OR CNMT registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification required (no licensure requirement for ultrasound), plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 3-5 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership experience, required.
- ARRT (MR)(CT) Dual Certification Strongly Preferred.
