About the role

Integrates activities and resources of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, comprising Radiology, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography, MRI, Mammography, PET, and office support. Assists the department manager in providing overall leadership and management of the Radiology/Imaging Department. Responsible for promoting excellent patient care, cost-effective use of material and human resources, and professional growth and job satisfaction for staff. Maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.

Responsible for daily operations of the picture archiving and communications system (PACS). Coordinates PACS services with other departments, physicians, and their office staff. Communicates system changes and upgrades to users. Provides direct supervision of technologists. Oversees ongoing performance improvement monitoring and reporting, staff in-service, and competency testing. Assigns staff and workload requirements while respecting changing priorities in daily operations. Interacts and communicates with physician support staff and other healthcare professionals.

Less than 50% of time on average is spent performing the duties of the individuals being supervised.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, including Radiology, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Mammography, PET, and office support.
• Assist in leadership and management of the Radiology/Imaging Department.
• Promote excellent patient care and cost-effective use of resources.
• Oversee PACS system operations and coordinate services with other departments.
• Communicate system changes and upgrades to users.
• Supervise technologists and conduct performance improvement monitoring, reporting, and competency testing.
• Assign staff and workload based on changing priorities.
• Interact with physician support staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor departmental operations for compliance with governmental regulations and accrediting agency standards.
• Act as a resource for staff technologists.

Requirements

High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

• Certification as one of the following:
  • CRT – Certified Radiologic Technologist
  • ARRT – Radiography (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • NMT – Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • ARDMS – American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • CT – Computed Tomography
  • RHM – Radiology Mammography
  • ARMRIT – Certified MRI Technologist
  • RCS – Registered Cardiac Sonographer
• BLS – Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
• 5 years of recent relevant experience.

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of all aspects of Radiology Care.
• Quality personnel management and customer service skills.
• Basic computer, data entry, and statistical evaluation skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay

Pay range is $183,456.00 to $256,817.60 annual salary. The compensation range may vary based on geographic location and considers factors such as experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.

Schedule

• Full Time (40 hours per week).
• Shift: Days.
• Days of the week: Monday – Friday.
• Weekend requirements: As needed.
