Job Summary
We are seeking a Supervisor II, Equipment to lead the continuous operation of production equipment with a strong focus on troubleshooting, regular preventive maintenance, and equipment modifications. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teamwork and team building, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement. This role involves leading people, resolving equipment issues, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, mentor, and otherwise support a team of technicians to safely achieve daily PM/BM (Preventive/Breakdown Maintenance) tasks on both day and night shifts while ensuring the highest quality team member experience
- Promote standards and reinforce expectations for safety, housekeeping, punctuality, attendance, work performance, conducting performance reviews, and administering disciplinary action where appropriate
- Administer timekeeping and payroll responsibilities with zero-defect mindset
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance of production equipment and controls to ensure operating condition
- Communicate directly with production departments to coordinate preventive maintenance and any troubleshooting work in production
- Prepare and manage periodic preventive maintenance schedules
- Record/keep all documents related to preventive maintenance and troubleshooting work (including daily reports and check sheets)
- Cookordinate with outside vendors/sources to schedule maintenance for any complex issues
- Mentor and train new maintenance technicians
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards
- Sort, Set-in-order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
- Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
- Ensure work is completed in a safe manner and maintain a safe work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience required and prior experience as a maintenance or equipment technician
- High School Diploma/General Educational Development required, advanced education preferred
- Vocational certification (i.e., journeyperson) preferred, not required
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience preferred, not required
- Technical mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience
- Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a period of up to 12 hours
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toed shoes
- Must be able to do perform the following over the course of up to 12 hours per day
- Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Stoop, twist, bend
- Reach overhead
