About the role

The Equipment Supervisor oversees, coordinates, and executes maintenance and operational readiness of manufacturing, fleet, and trucking equipment. This role supports the Facilities and Equipment Manager by ensuring equipment reliability, preventive maintenance compliance, and efficient utilization across Clark Pacific operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, equipment data, and proprietary information.
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance personnel responsible for fleet, manufacturing, and trucking equipment.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance and repair activities to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.
  • Cook up equipment repairs, including troubleshooting, vendor support, and internal resources.
  • Aid in managing service vendors, repair contracts, and equipment-related procurement activities.
  • Aid in implementing maintenance systems, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and equipment history.
  • Aid in evaluating equipment condition and provide input on repair vs. replacement decisions.
  • Aid in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Partner with EHS and operations teams to support safe equipment operation and regulatory compliance.
  • Aid in equipment availability planning aligned with production and trucking needs.
  • Aid in conducting equipment audits and inventory tracking across sites.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Key Interfaces

  • Internal: Facilities and Equipment Manager, Manufacturing and Trucking Operations teams, Maintenance technicians and trades personnel, EHS and Safety teams
  • External: Vendors, Repair Contractors

Key Metrics and Deliverables

  • Execution of preventive maintenance plans with high compliance rates.
  • Reduction in equipment downtime and unscheduled maintenance events.
  • Timely completion of work orders supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Improved equipment reliability and lifecycle performance.
  • Accurate maintenance tracking and reporting.
  • Support of cost control initiatives related to maintenance and repairs.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Solid organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of heavy equipment, fleet, and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Problem-solving skills with focus on root cause analysis and prevention.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems (Viewpoint).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Work Environment

The Manufacturing office environment will be experienced. There will be frequent exposure to manufacturing environments which may present hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery. There will be periodic exposure to outside weather conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat, wet and/or humid environments.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent: Sitting at desk, utilizing computers/phones, standing/walking.
  • Periodic: Repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements.
  • Occasional: Bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Experience and Education

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in equipment maintenance, fleet operations, or industrial maintenance.
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Experience with heavy equipment and/or manufacturing environments required.
  • Technical training or certifications (mechanical, diesel, or related field) preferred.
