SUPERVISOR HUSBANDRY OPERATIONS

Position Overview

Step into a leadership role at one of the nation’s leading cancer centers. As a Supervisor, Husbandry Operations, you will play a critical role in the Comparative Medicine Core (CMC), supporting groundbreaking research at the Speros Moffitt Discovery and Innovation Institute—a state-of-the-art facility designed to accelerate innovation in cancer research.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and support Research Animal Care Technicians
• Aid in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials
• Maintain proper maintenance of animal room equipment
• Monitor recordkeeping and ensure compliance with all regulatory and departmental policies
• Assist with team scheduling and operational coordination

• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
• Professional communication skills with all levels of staff
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Physically able to remain active and on your feet throughout the day

Credentials & Qualifications

• Demonstrated supervisory experience
• Associate’s degree + 5 years of animal care experience required OR High school diploma + 7 years of relevant experience
• LAT certification (AALAS) required
• LATG certification (AALAS) preferred (required within 2 years of hire)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a research animal facility preferred
• Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
