Supervisor, Housekeeping

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Enforces all standards and procedures for the resort’s Housekeeping services
• Responsible for the overall cleanliness, replenishment, and maintenance of guest rooms, private homes, and public areas
• Maintains the cleanliness of all assigned work areas
• Inspects guest rooms daily, ensuring they are cleaned to the highest level, all maintenance is reported and rectified, and standards are being adhered to
• Inspects all VIP arrival rooms prior to and during their stay, ensuring day and turndown service occurred
• Ensures the resort’s Lost & Found procedures are always adhered to
• Ensures the proper use and care of cleaning agents and equipment
• Ensures supplies and stock levels are maintained in pantries
• Ensures stationery and collateral are in good repair
• Takes ownership in assigned areas of preventative maintenance programs, guaranteeing that work is carried out in an effective and efficient manner
• Reports all defects immediately, following up to ensure the completion of maintenance
• Ensures safe work practices are strived towards
• Supervises subordinates, conducting training on a regular basis, as well as when requested by superiors
• Guarantees that the tasks provided are executed to meet the expectations of O&O standards
• Maintains the attendance of their allocated section of subordinates
• Conducts performance reviews for assigned staff members

Skills, Experience, & Educational Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of housekeeping
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position in a five star or higher category resort
• Effective communication skills with guests, co-workers, and managers
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and night shifts

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and bending in an operational environment for extended periods
• Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and pulling
• Lifting and carrying of loads weighing up to 50 pounds
• Working in outdoor environments, including high altitudes, that may present extreme weather conditions such as snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.
