About the role

The Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor at Ensemble is responsible for overseeing the activities of the data capture, analysis, or transcription service line within the Health Information Management department. This role involves analyzing electronic patient records for completeness, guiding employees on HIM processes and procedures, and monitoring and reporting on productivity and quality metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily activities of the HIM department by maintaining open communication with departmental staff.
  • Coaches and mentors staff, empowering them to complete tasks by providing information and support.
  • Communicates between coding and practitioners to ensure timely completion of critical documentation.
  • Specializes in supervising one of the Health Information Management service lines, specializing in analysis, data capture, or transcription.
  • Aids HIM leaders in the development of policies and procedures for the HIM service lines, assisting in the development of work flow procedures to enhance process improvements.
  • Stays current and informed of industry, market, and legislative regulations and changes, applying the information accordingly.
  • Demonstrates practices to protect the confidentiality of medical record information.

Requirements

  • Excellent speaking and presentation skills required, working knowledge of electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to function independently, with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
  • Prior experience with EPIC and One Content, electronic medical record, and training experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Preferred certifications: RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative).

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with EPIC and One Content, electronic medical record, and training experience.

Pay

This position pays between $52,100-$78,150/yr based on experience.
