The Food & Nutrition Supervisor oversees all areas of the Food & Nutrition Services Department to ensure high-quality food production, exceptional customer service, compliance with food safety standards, and efficient department operations. Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily preparation, production, and service of meals for patients, employees, and visitors.
- Coordinate workflow to ensure timely, safe, and efficient meal service throughout the department.
- Monitor staff performance and provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to ensure quality service.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain quality control for food preparation, portioning, presentation, and meal accuracy.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure therapeutic diets and physician diet orders are followed accurately.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism by supporting Relationship-Based Care and patient-centered service.
- Respond promptly and professionally to patient, visitor, and staff concerns.
- Support ongoing client and patient satisfaction by:
- Returning phone calls and emails promptly.
- Attending required meetings.
- Demonstrating sensitivity to the healthcare environment.
- Completing assigned projects accurately and on time.
- Providing reliable and accurate information.
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, training, and performance management of department employees.
- Monitor department operations and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited institution in Food Service Management, Dietetics, Culinary Arts, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising a large-volume food service operation.
- Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
