About the role
The Fixed Assets Supervisor oversees the Fixed Assets department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP. Key responsibilities include managing fixed asset registers, capital projects, and accounting policies.
Responsibilities
Asset Management: Oversee the accurate recording and classification of all fixed assets, manage capital projects, and ensure compliance with accounting rules and internal policies.
Accounting and Compliance: Ensure fixed asset accounting aligns with GAAP standards, reconcile sub-ledgers, and support internal and external audits.
Process & Policy Oversight: Develop and implement fixed asset policies and procedures, and ensure organization-wide adherence to guidelines.
Leadership & Staff Development: Supervise staff, provide training, and support professional growth through regular feedback and performance reviews.
Requirements
Minimum Education & Skills Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, 3+ years of accounting experience, including financial close, reconciliations, analysis, and reporting. CPA certification preferred.
Core Technical Skills/Knowledge: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
Specialized Fixed Assets Supervisor Technical Skills/Knowledge: Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls, experience with data analytics tools, and expertise in intercompany accounting.
Qualifications
Experience: 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role, preferably in public accounting.
Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy, and ability to interpret financial reports.
