ABOUT THE ROLE:As a supervisor on the facilities operations team, you will help design, build, activate, and maintain some of the world’s most technically advanced facilities. You will be able to operate with autonomy to solve diverse and complex problems, excel at managing multiple projects at a time, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Facilities Supervisor is an important role and directly impacts the foundation of the Southaven and Memphis sites. This position will help ensure that we keep facility maintenance costs low, keep vendors competitive and efficient, and find better ways to enhance our image with customers, visitors, and VIPs. Our facility care is a direct reflection of our values, and the impact is immense.RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead a team responsible for performing inspections, testing, maintenance, and repair of campus-wide systems; including mechanical/HVAC, electrical, compressed air, dust collectors, plumbing tasks (backflow preventers/etc), as well as other preventative maintenance and repair programs covered by facilities operationsLead and direct a team of plumbing, compressed air, electrical, and HVAC-focused facility techniciansSchedule daily work and prioritize assignmentsDevelop, plan and execute site improvement projects in accordance with overall business objectives and strategyKnow and understand all safety procedures of SpaceXAI in order to observe the work of contractors and bring safety concerns to their attention as needed. Report all unsafe acts and conditions which remain uncorrected to supervisor. Allow no work to be performed when conditions are considered unsafeMaintain appropriate records for all trades as requiredKnow and understand mechanical equipment such as: chilled water systems, boilers, VFDs, pumps, PLC’s, condensers, split systems, air compressors, dust collectors and other mechanical equipmentCommunicate with Manager on daily activities, projects, team moral and concerning issuesManage vendor/contractor finances. Work with SpaceXAI buyers and accounts payable to assure accounts are maintainedOversee team of techs, driving overall performance and effectiveness through individual coaching and developmentBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate 3+ years of experience with facilities managementPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering or equivalentKnowledge of building management and automated facilities monitoring systems and processes such as: HVAC systems, fluid plumbing systems, generators, compressed air systems or fuel storage systemsProficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPointExperience managing budgets and third-party vendorsExperience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum valueExperience with asset management softwareHigh attention to detail and cleanliness standardsAbility to work independently with little directionAbility to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentAbility to anticipate needs and develop innovative solutions for continuous improvement SpaceXAI is an equal opportunity employer.
