Supervisor- Environmental Services; Days

About the role

Responsibilities

• Supervises the efficient and effective operation of assigned area(s).
• Supervises the work of assigned Environmental Services staff.
• Ensures the execution of appropriate environmental services in assigned area(s).
• Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or high school equivalency exam passage.
• 2 years of experience in hospital-based housekeeping.
• 2 years of experience as a Supervisor in any field.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Business or other related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience as a Supervisor of hospital-based housekeeping.
• 3 years of experience supervising hotel or hospital housekeepers.
• 2 years of experience in the operation/care of floor care equipment (i.e. high-speed buffer, auto-scrubber, rotary scrubber, wet/dry suction equipment, steamer etc.).

Physical Requirements

• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
• Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
• May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
• Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
• Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
• Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
