Supervisor Environmental Services

About the role

Supervises and leads Environmental Services employees in cleaning all areas of the hospital according to established schedules, technical and administrative policies, procedures, and performance standards. Performs training, counseling, quality control, scheduling, performance evaluations, and production tasks in line with Environmental Services procedures and standards. Contributes to Support Service goals for patients, visitors, and facility staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensures employees perform daily cleaning in assigned areas.
• Ensures employees maintain and care for the workplace and assigned equipment.
• Trains employees on proper use of chemicals, correct mixtures, and equipment (e.g., Rotos, extractors, automatic scrubbers, and other specialty items).
• Makes effective use of department and hospital resources.
• Performs assigned and routine additional tasks as needed.
• Supports and adheres to hospital, division, and department policies and procedures.
• Promotes the Wayne Memorial Hospital Guest Relations Policy.
• Ensures ongoing compliance with Workers' Compensation Policy.
• Performs other departmental duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Two years of environmental services or housekeeping experience required.
• At least two years of supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lead and manage team members.
• Strong communication skills with all team members and hospital staff.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented and accurate.
• Ability to effectively use various computer applications and programs.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift, onsite.
