Supervisor Environmental Services

About the role

The Supervisor inspects assigned areas ensuring compliance with established cleaning standards. They determine cleaning effectiveness by staff and assess the need for special cleaning, report items in need of repair or in unsatisfactory condition, and review employees' application of chemicals and proper use.

Responsibilities

• Determines cleaning effectiveness by staff and assesses the need for special cleaning
• Reports items in need of repair or in unsatisfactory condition
• Trains new hires and orients staff to hospital/infection control and department procedures
• Reviews employees' application of chemicals and proper use
• Safeguards soiled linen and ensures its removal from areas of responsibility
• Recommends disciplinary action in accordance with Human Resources guidelines
• Ensures all job duties are performed in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• 12-24 months of experience in an institutional/hospitality setting
• One year of supervisory experience
