Job Summary

As a Supervisor, Environmental Services, you will oversee the daily operations of the environmental services team, ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. Your responsibilities include managing and mentoring EVS staff, assigning tasks, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with cleaning protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor EVS staff, assigning tasks and conducting inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with cleaning protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication, and thorough knowledge of environmental services best practices.
  • One-on-one training and development of EVS staff.
  • Supervise the necessary resources needed for the Environmental Services department under your control and make recommendations for hiring, promoting, and annual staff performance reviews.
  • Supervise a waste program that separates, packages, and disposes of all waste according to all regulations.
  • Perform quality improvement initiatives under direction of EVS manager/director.
  • Conduct rounding activities to ensure environmental hygiene in all areas assigned.
  • Prepare necessary reporting to managers and document results.
  • Conduct ES Survey required reports, such as standard work audits, direct observations, fluorescent marker, and clean trace ATP.
  • Supervise the bed tracking system and ensure EVS response times are achieved.
  • Prepare reports to document results, collaborating with the EVS manager to develop improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Required: High School Graduate or GED with 3 years of experience in Environmental Services.
  • Prior supervisory level experience in supervising staff preferred.
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Tech preferred.

At CHI Health Good Samaritan, you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.

Pay Range

$18.96 - $26.78 /hour
