Supervisor, Durable Medical Equipment Specialist
Job Summary
Oversee Durable Medical Equipment Specialist activities and initiatives for a major or multiple sites, ensuring processes are followed to provide quality care to patients served. Provide administrative leadership and expertise. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the DME industry, including intake process, product selection, dispensing and setup, documentation, billing, compliance, and performance management. Exhibit excellent customer service, enthusiasm, compassion, teamwork, and empathy. Show initiative in collaborating with local network operations and other teams to utilize resources effectively and achieve service level and financial objectives. Allocate resources for staff sharing, workload balancing, and short-term forecasting. Develop strategic DME Specialist support initiatives. Interview, hire, continue education, and counsel employees. Deliver corrective feedback to inspire accountability and self-redirection. Maintain and expand professional and position development by staying updated on new technology, attending relevant meetings, and participating in educational offerings.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required. Associates Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Must have 3 years’ experience working in applicable field.
- Strong knowledge of computer functions and basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Detail oriented, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to follow through to the end.
- Advanced knowledge of the medical field, with prior experience in home medical equipment required.
- Previous experience in managing or supervising others preferred.
- CDME (Certified Durable Medical Equipment) certification through the BOC preferred.
