Primary Duties
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, electrical safety, performance testing and calibrations on medical equipment. Documents activities providing a history for the piece of equipment.
- Performs routine to moderately complex repairs on clinical/medical equipment. Research necessary parts (electrical/mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and manuals, etc.). Documents activities to ensure completeness and accuracy of the equipment's history.
- Provide technical support and training to healthcare professionals
- Verifies accuracy of inventory listing and availability of necessary parts/test equipment.
- Reviews device specific repair history for identification of potentially unresolved equipment problems.
- Order and install replacement parts as needed
- Maintains technical expertise on designated technology. Develops technical expertise in new areas of exposure as assigned.
- Mix, test, and/or provide chemicals, lubricants, and supplies that are required for the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Provides “on-call” technical assistance in order to verify equipment malfunctions and to provide off-hours emergency service
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent training, such as in biomedical equipment technology or electrical/electronic engineering or military electronics, is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and mechanical repair
- Knowledge of medical equipment and regulatory requirements
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass background and drug screen.
- Must have valid driver's license.
