Primary Duties

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, electrical safety, performance testing and calibrations on medical equipment. Documents activities providing a history for the piece of equipment.
  • Performs routine to moderately complex repairs on clinical/medical equipment. Research necessary parts (electrical/mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and manuals, etc.). Documents activities to ensure completeness and accuracy of the equipment's history.
  • Provide technical support and training to healthcare professionals
  • Verifies accuracy of inventory listing and availability of necessary parts/test equipment.
  • Reviews device specific repair history for identification of potentially unresolved equipment problems.
  • Order and install replacement parts as needed
  • Maintains technical expertise on designated technology. Develops technical expertise in new areas of exposure as assigned.
  • Mix, test, and/or provide chemicals, lubricants, and supplies that are required for the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Provides “on-call” technical assistance in order to verify equipment malfunctions and to provide off-hours emergency service

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent training, such as in biomedical equipment technology or electrical/electronic engineering or military electronics, is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and mechanical repair
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and regulatory requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must pass background and drug screen.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
