Supervisor, Diagnostic Radiology

About the role

Facility: Webster Medical Center. Location: Webster, SD. Address: 1401 1st St W, Webster, SD 57274, USA. Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts. Job Schedule: Full time, 36.00 weekly hours. Department Details: Newly remodeled facility. Family environment. This position requires 1 in 4 call with one night of call during the week and 1 in 4 weekends on call.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operation of the diagnostic area, coordinating scheduling, staffing, equipment assignment, and patient flow.
• Supervise and direct staff, including scheduling staff on rotations and other assignments.
• Conduct performance appraisals and have authority to recommend, reward, and/or discipline.
• Observe, evaluate, and participate in the educational process of students.
• Function independently and assume duties of department supervisor as necessary.
• Possess skills and knowledge of diagnostic x-rays; perform related procedures and protocols.
• Learn new technology and orient new technologists.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities to provide direction to staff and handle inter- and intradepartmental conflicts.
• Obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to improve personalized treatment and care.
• Develop understanding of patient's physical and emotional status.
• May supervise different modalities as necessary.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal radiographic technology training in an AMA or JRCERT approved school required.
• Minimum of three years of radiographic experience required; previous supervisory experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Thorough understanding of diagnostic radiographic principles.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
• If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re‑certification as necessary required.
