About the role
The Inventory Control Supervisor is accountable for the efficient day-to-day operation of the Inventory Control functions of the Distribution Center. The emphasis is on managing numerous operational activities to ensure the production floor is working in a balanced and productive fashion with respect to operational and service goals. The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of non-exempt staff within the inventory control department and performs other related duties, special projects, or assignments as required.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct supervision to a team of skilled Inventory Control employees, including Workflow Coordinators and Associates, and manages the relationship with the onsite staffing agency for temporary employees.
- Spends approximately 75% of time on the operational floor driving engagement, coaching, teaching, developing, and providing performance feedback.
- Effectively manages the allocation of equipment and labor resources to ensure service levels and budgets are consistently met.
- Ensures quality and accuracy control audits are conducted regularly.
- Administers policies and guidelines, counseling associates on performance and behavioral concerns.
- Sets and communicates clear expectations for team members regarding productivity results.
- Owns, completes, and delivers annual performance evaluations for each associate.
- Identifies and prioritizes tasks to meet daily business goals and prepares the incoming shift for a quick and effective transition.
- Ensures a safe environment by driving safety strategies, recognition, and accountability.
- Improves efficiency, quality, and service by identifying process improvements and partnering with leadership to implement change.
- Assigns work, meets completion dates, and interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies specific to inventory control.
- Resolves problems requiring broad-based analysis and presents solutions to senior leaders.
- Builds trust with business partners by explaining the rationale behind business processes and decision-making.
- Discusses and presents information and issues with business partners in support and operational departments.
- Plans and executes strategic, efficient cycle counting activities and physical inventories.
- Regularly updates and aligns Inventory Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Aligns with the Operations team to ensure proper training, skill development, and cross-training for inventory control associates.
Requirements
- College degree in a logistics-related field, or five to ten years of relevant/related work experience.
- Previous experience working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or ability to quickly develop proficiency; knowledge of “JDA” WMS preferred.
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, sit, squat, lift, and/or walk for the duration of the scheduled shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $75,140.00 - $83,980.00. The actual base salary offered depends on factors such as qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location. Individuals in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM
