Supervisor, CNC Machine Shop

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Machining Operations Supervisor to lead the machining department, ensuring efficient production of high-quality components. The role involves coordinating daily operations, supervising team members, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-performing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee machining activities to meet production schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
• Supervise, coach, and develop machinists and team leads, fostering accountability and continuous learning.
• Monitor performance metrics, implement corrective actions, and drive lean manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.
• Manage work orders, inventory, maintenance, calibration, and resources to support production.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and support growth.
• Ensure compliance with safety, FDA, ISO, and other regulatory standards.
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and workforce planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably with CNC screw machines.
• Hands-on knowledge of CNC setup, troubleshooting, and program editing.
• Proven leadership in team management and talent development.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with manufacturing software and data analysis.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in regulated environments like medical device manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kanban, and ISO systems.
• Leadership style focused on coaching, safety, quality, and operational excellence.
