Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Initiates Engineering Change Requests for any changes related to the machining processes.
- Develops and maintains PFMEA, Control Plan, and Operating Instructions related to machining processes.
- Responsible for first article samples and capability study during machining process implementation.
- Participates in the review of customer or contractual documentation to identify and ensure fulfillment of machining requirements.
- Collections machining data and develops recommendations to drive continuous improvement to boost uptime, reduce machining cycle times, and develop error-proofing strategies while maintaining product quality.
- Responsible for compliance to the policies, procedures, and instructions of IATF 16949.
- Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and able to properly interpret OE level drawings to plan and execute reclaim machining projects.
- Capable of layout, programming, and operation of Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM).
- Collaborates with design team as machining subject matter expert (SME) during design of CMM and CNC fixtures.
- Project management (concept to realization) – includes design, quotation, sourcing components/vendors, machining of fixtures, assembly of fixtures, testing, implementation, documentation, and training.
- Manages team of machining staff to provide production, R&D, and new launch support for all CNC, general machining, and CMM equipment, programs, and tooling.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Candidate Qualifications
- CAM software (preferred Inventor CAM, Fusion 360)
- Hexagon PC-DMIS software for CMM
- FANUC CNC controller
- Zoller tool setup & management
- Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing

- EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- or Ten (10) years related experience and/or training
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- REASONING ABILITIES
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, or kneel.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
