About the role
The Supervisor, Clinical Operations supports organizational initiatives, serves in leadership roles on committees, and partners with organizational departments to create an optimal patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a clinical content expert, accurately and effectively disseminating knowledge and mentoring peers.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patients' status, plan of care, and goal achievement.
- Works closely with the entire multidisciplinary team and seeks advice, judgment, and support when necessary.
- Supports RUSH Pediatrics Aurora, RUSH Pediatrics Aurora Ridge, and RUSH Pediatrics & Family Medicine Oswego by establishing a caring, therapeutic relationship with patients and families, ensuring excellent patient experience, and optimizing clinic workflow.
- Provides leadership support and coaching to coworkers, supervising staff assignments, competencies, and clinical staff schedules; making immediate adjustments to achieve goals and coverage requirements.
- Makes the primary contact for clinical team call-ins and manages subsequent schedule changes.
- Mentors and coaches staff members to provide an optimal patient experience.
- Conducts employee performance evaluations with coaching and direction from the Manager.
- Reviews and approves payroll time clock punches and PTO requests in Kronos.
- Facilitates the implementation and understanding of organizational quality initiatives.
- Maintains non-staff supply and medication expense within budget.
- Conducts daily, monthly, annual, or ad hoc reports as directed by the Practice Manager.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- For hires or transfers on/after 8/1/2013, must attain a BSN within 5 years of hire/transfer date.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Able to set priorities, document conversations and specific actions taken, and develop applicable policies and procedures.
- Flexible; able to adapt to change.
- Experience in supervisory roles with at least 3 years, including one year of ambulatory nursing experience preferred.
- Medical practice management and EMR software experience.
