Position Summary
The Central Supply Supervisor at HPMC is responsible for infection control, quality assurance, and departmental policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include collecting, cleaning, decontaminating, disinfecting, and/or sterilizing surgical instruments, trays, and packs, as well as reusable medical devices and patient care equipment for inpatient Nursing and Medical Office departments. The supervisor also works in the Sterile Processing Department, cleaning, preparing, assembling, sterilizing, and packing instruments and trays for the medical center and/or medical office building. They may assist in departmental in-services and training. A current CS/SPD Certification from either the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or The International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management is required.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum Work Experience: At least 1 year experience in a progressive hospital Central Service Department or 3 years’ experience in a progressive hospital.
- Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation: Current Los Angeles County Fire Card (within 30 days of hire), Assault Response Competency (ARC) (within 30 days of hire), and Current Certified Central Service Technician status (preferred).
