About the role
Lead with Purpose. Support Every Surgery. UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a Full-Time Supervisor, Central Sterile Processing.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the department, ensuring top-tier cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution of surgical instruments
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of skilled technicians, promoting a culture of accountability, growth, and compassion
- Serve as a key resource for clinical teams, solving issues, answering questions, and ensuring service excellence
- Partner with the manager to maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards
- Drive performance improvement and help spread best practices across the department and hospital
- Champion education and development by coordinating internal and external training opportunities
- Lead initiatives that promote diversity, team wellness, and a positive work culture
- Participate in staff evaluations, scheduling, and strategic planning for departmental success
- Share knowledge through presentations, posters, and innovation efforts
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- 3 years experience in central sterile processing required
- 2 years supervisory or team leader experience required
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, physicians, staff of other hospital departments, and outside contacts
- Must complete 10 hours of continuing education to remain qualified as a Central Sterile Technician on an annual basis

Schedule
Work overnight hours (Monday–Friday) with rotating weekend call every 4 weeks
