UPMC Hamot, a Magnet®-designated facility in Erie, PA, is seeking a Supervisor for the Central Processing team.
About the role
The Supervisor coordinates daily operations within the Central Processing department, ensuring all instrument and equipment processing—cleaning/decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution—is completed efficiently and accurately. This role provides supervision to staff and serves as a resource for resolving service issues and answering customer questions.

Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in central sterile processing.
- 2 years supervisory or team leader experience required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, physicians, staff of other hospital departments, and outside contacts.
- Must complete 10 hours of continuing education annually to remain qualified as a Central Sterile Technician.
- Must be able to stand for all shift hours and lift, push, or pull up to 35 pounds.
Qualifications
- Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) with Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
- Act 34 clearance.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM. No holidays or weekends.
Benefits
Sign-on bonus of $5,000 for eligible certified technicians (2-year commitment).
