Central Sterile Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Directs the overall service functions of the Central Supply Department.
• Moves throughout the facility as needed.
• Understands and writes data accurately.
• Procures supplies, stock, and non-stock items.
• Controls inventory levels and ensures accuracy with the system.
• Directs and schedules department staff.
• Communicates effectively with various patient populations.

Qualifications

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST or CSPDT) required.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting.
• Associate degree in a related healthcare field preferred.
• Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization techniques and procedures.
• Strong supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency in using internet, Microsoft Word, and Excel computer systems.
• Knowledge of sterile processing principles, infection prevention procedures, JCAHO regulations, AAMI, and AORN compliance programs.
