About the Role

Provides efficient oversight of daily assigned modality operations, appropriate staffing, and patient care processes. Acts as a role model for service excellence. Ensures continuous improvements in quality departmental services. Organizes and assists with training of staff, new hires, and student internships. Affects patient outcomes by safely performing imaging studies. Demonstrates appropriate modality screening procedures while maintaining the safety of patients, visitors, and staff that enter the imaging areas/suites. Knowledgeable of equipment and supplies needed to ensure appropriate imaging. Coordinates effective schedules by organizing departmental resources and coordinating with key stakeholders. Demonstrates stewardship in regard to financial resources.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of assigned cardiovascular imaging modalities
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and patient care processes
  • Act as a role model for service excellence and continuous quality improvement
  • Organize and assist with staff training, new hires, and student internships
  • Safely perform imaging studies to affect patient outcomes
  • Maintain safety through appropriate screening procedures for patients, visitors, and staff
  • Manage equipment and supplies for appropriate imaging
  • Coordinate effective schedules and departmental resources with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrate financial stewardship

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree/Graduate from an accredited diagnostic imaging program in: Cardiac Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine/PET
  • Required licensure in one of the following pathways:
    • Cardiac Sonographer: Registered Cardiac Sonographer with Cardiovascular Credentialing International or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (Adult and/or Pediatric - Pediatric preferred)
    • Nuclear Medicine: ARRT or CNMT registered in Nuclear Medicine
    • Vascular Sonographer: Vascular ultrasound registry from either ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI
  • BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred (as appropriate)
  • Three years of technical experience in the area with a strong knowledge base in cardiovascular imaging
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, internet/intranet software, email, and PACS experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time imaging experience
  • 5 or more years practicing in the imaging field with previous supervisory experience
